Description

Title:  500 Years:  Martin Luther and the Protestant Reformation
Description:
Martin Luther  was a Christian theologian and Augustinian monk whose teachings inspired the Protestant Reformation and deeply influenced the doctrines of Protestant and other Christian traditions.  His translation of the Bible also helped to develop a standard version of the German language and added several principles to the art of translation.

Germany is celebrating the 500th anniversary of Luther’s Protestant Reformation.  Christa Nicklas, a retired teacher and school principal from Munich, Germany, is visiting Germantown and will make a presentation regarding this celebration and what the Reformation has meant to Germany.  The presentation will take place Wednesday, August 23, 2017 at 3:00 PM in the Germantown Library and last approximately 90 minutes including time for questions.  This presentation is free and open to the public.
