Join the Jackson Historical Society as they present Rochelle Pennington, author, and lecturer at their spring history talk entitled, "A Walk Down Memory Lane". Take a nostalgic look back in time. Walk down Memory Lane to the “Good Old Days” of the 1930s, 40s, and 50s with author Rochelle Pennington. Her historical, lighthearted program will detail everyday life during the bygone years of corner phone booths, party lines, hand-me-down clothes, doctors who made house calls, wringer washing machines, marble matches, Howdy Doody shows, and outhouses. Audience attendees will be invited to remember a time when percolating coffee pots, mothers in aprons, flour sifters, home-baked bread, and suppers prepared from canning jars from the pantry were part of everyday life. The author’s power-point presentation, featuring vintage photographs, will be complemented by a large collection of antiques she will display.
