Silent Man March in Honor of POW/MIA Remembrance Day
The community is invited to come out for a somber yet important occasion as the Germantown Legion Post holds a Silent Man March to honor prisoners of war and those missing in action from all wars and conflicts in which America has been involved.
This is a solemn march to a single beat of a drum. Somewhere between 80 and 100 American Legion members, auxiliary members and sons of Legion members will march in the parade. Amy Keller, manager of the Germantown Legion Post, suggests spectators should place their hand over their heart and salute the flag to honor these veterans, the prisoners of war and those missing in action.
The march will begin at Fond du Lac Avenue and Pilgrim Road; head north on Pilgrim Road to Freistadt Road and then head west to the American Legion Post.
A quiet, informal ceremony at the Legion Post will feature speakers and a lit candle for those who are still missing.
