Glacier Hills County Park features over 6 miles of trails traversing picturesque kettle moraine terrain near Holy Hill along the shores of Friess Lake. The hike will begin up by the hall and chapel around 7:00am and we'll head towards the lake by the recently restored 2910's ear log cabins. From there we'll hike along the lake and up into the old growth red oak - sugar maple dry mesic forest towards St. Amelian's Bog (a very high quality bog with over 10 different types of sedges and 12 uncommon species including several orchids, sundews, and bog rosemary). We'll hike along the elevated sinewy esker between the bogs and along patches of the state threatened kitten tail and back to the Hall for breakfast.
