About the Position
Imagine yourself at the heart of community-building in a lively and connected community.  This position will be responsible for keeping connections with members, helping them utilize their Chamber benefits and make the most of their membership.  Through social media and our website, the position will promote the Chamber, the benefits of membership, events and our members.  Join our team as a Marketing & Member Support Coordinator and let your networking ability and creativity flow promoting and connecting with members, marketing and supporting events, writing compelling media through various platforms, and supporting Chamber initiatives.
 
Qualifications

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, Google, Canva, Constant Contact, and website management tolls; experience with ChamberMaster software and QuickBooks a plus
  • Experience in creating and posting professional social media and graphics
  • Marketing strategy knowledge and experience in creating social media campaigns is helpful
  • Strong interpersonal and written communication skills; comfortable with public engagement, and building collaborative relationships
  • Highly organized with strong attention to detail and project management skills; able to multi-task, work efficiently under pressure, and adapt quickly to changing priorities
  • Ability to quickly learn new information and teach it to others in a clear, understandable, and efficient manner
  • Willingness and availability to assist with major Chamber events, including occasional evening or extended hours
  • Demonstrates high ethical standards and professionalism, with the ability to handle sensitive information confidentially
  • Possesses a valid driver’s license and reliable transportation to travel to events and work locations
  • Ability to perform the essential functions of the role, including working at desk for extended periods and occasionally lifting or moving materials weighing up to 25 pounds, with or without reasonable accommodation
 
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Maintain and operate the ChamberMaster software platform supporting events, registrations, calendars, job listings, website content, select social media postings, and fees
  • Update the Chamber event calendar, website, social media and newsletter with Chamber & member events
  • Create press releases and send out invitations for all major events
  • Write creative content and develop visually appealing promotional graphics or ads to share across multiple platforms, including the Chamber website, print media and social media accounts.
  • Provide media coverage of chamber events through social media, including live updates, photos, and short videos and post appropriately
  • Monitor and track social media metrics, providing valuable insights into the progress and effectiveness of posts and outreach efforts
  • Develop and execute marketing plans and campaigns for major events ensuring smooth transitions between events
  • Create and schedule social marketing posts to promote our members
  • Represent and promote Chamber sponsorship opportunities and fundraising initiatives across platforms and when engaging with members
  • Generate membership and financial reports within QuickBooks to help with engagement initiatives
  • Populate tourism websites with major Germantown community events and businesses
  • Create weekly chamber updates tailored for the community and membership
  • Collaborate on the creation and distribution strategy of the biannual Community Guide which focuses on highlighting our chamber, community and its amenities
  • Support tourism initiatives that were approved by the Village Tourism Commission
  • Serve as a resource answering community and Chamber questions and/or directing people to the appropriate channels
  • Generate reports on member chamber participation and managing member retention efforts
  • Analyze member event participation to customize communications for appropriate audiences
  • Send event registration reminders for Chamber events
  • Teach members about their membership profile and how to use ChamberMaster effectively
  • Contact and work with members who have overdue invoices through phone or e-mail
  • Process Certificate of Origins for our members
  • Create surveys to capture the current issues in the local business community and work with the team to find ways the chamber can provide resources
  • Collaborate in Chamber event planning including participation when available in committee meetings
  • Support the team, members, and guests at events by actively participating in event set-up, and teardown, ensuring a seamless and enjoyable experience for all
  • Engage with co-workers, visitors, chamber members, businesses and community members professionally in office, via e-mail and by phone
  • Participate in the Chamber’s bi-monthly Marketing & Tourism Committee
  • Uphold the Chamber bylaws including being non-partisan in all Chamber activities
  • Follow branding, narrative and outreach standards of the Chamber and/or our membership
  • Utilize the Chamber’s Strategic Plan as a guide in all decision making
  • Maintain the Chamber office and work areas to be presentable to the public
  • Other duties as assigned
